Missed Appointments in August
During August, 716 appointments were missed across Aspiro Healthcare, resulting in a significant amount of healthcare time being unavailable to other patients who may have needed it.
August DNA (Did Not Attend) Figures
Patients did not attend:
- 395 GP appointments, resulting in 82 hours 45 minutes of lost clinical time
- 216 Nurse, Nursing Associate and Healthcare Assistant appointments, resulting in 63 hours 20 minutes of lost clinical time
- 25 Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) appointments, resulting in 6 hours 30 minutes of lost clinical time
- 80 Allied Health Professional appointments, including Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners and Health Coaches, resulting in 21 hours 45 minutes of lost clinical time
This equates to a total of 174 hours and 20 minutes of healthcare appointment time, equivalent to more than seven days of appointments that could have been offered to other patients.
Why Cancelling Matters
When appointments are not attended or cancelled late, valuable clinical time is wasted and other patients may experience longer waits for care.
If you can no longer attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Even a short amount of notice can allow us to offer the appointment to another patient.
Under the Practice's Did Not Attend (DNA) Policy, appointments should be cancelled more than one hour before the appointment start time.
By cancelling unwanted appointments, you help us:
- Improve access to appointments
- Reduce waiting times
- Make better use of NHS resources
- Ensure fair and equitable access to healthcare for all patients
Our DNA Policy
Please remember that patients who do not attend more than three appointments within a 12-month period may have their ongoing registration with the practice reviewed in line with our DNA Policy.
Thank You
We appreciate the support of our patients in helping us reduce missed appointments. Together, we can ensure that available appointments are used effectively and remain accessible to those who need them most.
Please help us make every appointment count.
