Appointments

Following feedback from patients the appointment system has been changed as follows:

Same day appointments

You are now able to book a same day appointment with a nurse practitioner or a doctor without having to wait for a nurse practitioner or doctor to telephone you back.

Advance booking of appointments

You are now be able to book an appointment with a doctor or nurse practitioner up to two weeks in advance.

Speaking to a doctor over the telephone

We have made it easier for you to speak to a doctor over the telephone.  Each doctor has been allocated a number of telephone appointments which you can be booked into and the doctor will phone you back - this would be just for things that can be dealt with over the telephone and not lead to a face to face appointment.   

Speaking to a nurse practitioner over the phone

Again each of our nurse practitioners have been allocated a number of telephone appointments for you to book into should you need advice etc but not necessary need to see a clinician in person.

Home Visits

Home visits are for the totally housebound or very seriously ill. Please telephone before 10.30am and be prepared to give the receptionist some indication of the nature and urgency of the problem. The doctor will usually wish to speak to you before arranging to visit.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
